…well what about me Lone de Bie? Actually my life has always been quite “untraditional” in many ways. It has always been and always will be very important for me to follow my passion and my dreams. My dreams have not always been fulfilled right away…sometimes it has taken years..but I VERY, VERY seldom give up on my dreams. So YES most of them has been fulfilled and I will keep on living my life that way. My dream for the future is to play, teach and spread the knowledge of the Gongs in the World.
The Music in my Life
From the age of 7 music has been a great part of my life. I played the flutes for many years then the guitar and later the piano. I spend entire days just practicing and practicing and enjoyed every second. In high school I chose the Music-Linguistic line and learned to analyze and compose music.
My life outside the Music
After high school I had to choose between The Music Conservatory and my passion for design…I chose design and worked in the fashion business for more than 20 years. 10 of these years I worked as self employed personal stylist and just loved my clients. At the age of 43 I graduated University as a Bachelor in Economics and have been working in the financial sector for the past 6 years.
My Way with the Gong
BUT in 2016 I heard the Gong in Copenhagen for the first time. I had joined a Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training simply to go deeper into the yoga practice personally. At one of the weekend trainings one of our teachers Guru Dharam said just one sentence that made me realize I HAD TO PLAY THE GONG MYSELF!!
I went straight home and surfed the web for Gong Training by Don Conreaux, contacted Christof Bernhard and enrolled in his teachings in Italy July 2017. I actually left for the teachings in Italy the exact day after I completed my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training.
When I arrived in Italy I had NEVER played a Gong..I did not know what a Mallet was..I just KNEW this was going to change my life forever. And it sure has.
When I returned from Italy I bought my first Gong. A 36″ Universe Gong from Gongland. Then a 24″ Don Conreaux Reflection Gong from Oetken Gongs and last but not least my 42″ Old Wise Earth from Gongland as well. Then came the Shruti, the Wind Chimes, The Sinsula and the Conch Shell. I was Finally back into music and it just feels SO right. I have even started singing and composing again.
Welcome to my Gong Universe
